About Medical Education in Albania

European-standard medical training in a growing academic hub

Albania's medical education is centred in Tirana, the capital. The public University of Medicine, Tirana traces its roots back to 1952 and works closely with the country's main university hospital. A few private universities run English-taught medicine programmes for international students. Teaching follows European education standards, with lectures, labs, seminars and hospital-based clinical training.

For Indian students, Albania offers a European degree at a lower cost than most of Europe, in a country known for its safety and hospitality. As the Indian community is still small and the number of universities is limited, it suits independent students who are comfortable with a smaller peer group and who choose an NMC-compliant university with expert guidance.
