About Medical Education in Bangladesh

A trusted medical system shaped much like India's

Bangladesh's medical colleges are regulated by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) and affiliated with public universities such as the University of Dhaka. The MBBS course is divided into professional phases, just like in India, with similar subjects, textbooks and exam style. Every college runs or is attached to a teaching hospital, where students see a large number of patients with diseases common across South Asia.

Because the training is so close to India's, Indian graduates from Bangladesh often find FMGE/NExT preparation easier. Familiar food, a shared Bengali culture with eastern India and short travel distances make student life comfortable. For families who want an affordable, India-like MBBS close to home, Bangladesh is a sensible option.
